This is a lovely, rather slinky 9ct gold lucky kidney bean charm measures approximately 1.5 cm x 9mm wide. Its hallmark for 9ct gold is visible on the reverse of the bean, and while it doesnt have a date mark, I suspect it derives from the 1910s.

This wonderful hollow antique charm looks very pretty on a chain around the neck or attached to a charm bracelet and the central bright turquoise stone gives it a welcome pop of colour.

As well as being a symbol of luck, kidney beans have long been thought to represent fertility and new beginnings and were very popular in the late 1800/early 1900s.
